The Home Office’s Design and Technology Alliance Against Crime and the Design Council have established a project called Design Out Crime. It is showing how designers can get to the root of a crime problem and stop it happening.
This month, it's alcohol related crime in the spotlight as agency Design Bridge unveil the prototype pint glasses they have designed to reduce the injuries caused by glassing attacks and also provide pubs and beer drinkers with a better branded, more sensual drinking experience.

The first adds a thin film of clear bio-resion to the inside of any glass. The tought films adds strength to the glass and prevents it from falling to dangerous pieces when broken. (read more)
