‘The Adventures of Tintin’ Trailer

‘The Adventures of Tintin’ Trailer

Paramount Pictures has released a new international movie trailer for the Peter Jackson-produced Steven Spielberg-directed performance capture animated adaptation of The Adventures of Tintin. If you were skeptical after the initial teaser trailer, this full length preview might just win you over. Its great to actually see more action this time around. I have to admit, the action sequences feel more like a modern Indiana Jones film than Crystal Skull. Watch the trailer now embedded after the jump. Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Contagion – Bacteria Billboard

Contagion - Bacteria Billboard

Building on its reputation for always being ahead of the curve, Warner Bros. Pictures Canada created a unique outdoor installation merging science and advertising that is guaranteed to leave movie lovers, science buffs and art enthusiasts in ‘awe’ or ‘eww’.

In support of Academy Award ® winner Steven Soderbergh’s latest film “Contagion” — in theatres September 9th, Warner Bros. Pictures Canada teamed up with microbiologists and immunologists from around the world to create a one-of-a-kind bacteria message board located at 409 Queen Street West in an abandoned store-front window. On August 28th, two large Petri dishes were inoculated with live bacteria including penicillin, mold and pigmented bacteria and almost overnight have revealed the true Contagion — an artistic interpretation of the spread of a virus as depicted in the film.

The public was invited to witness first-hand the remarkable growing power of natural bacteria on Wednesday August 31st from 11:00 AM — 2:00 PM. The first 50 people who arrived received passes to see “Contagion” in theatres and other themed prizes.

‘The Hunger Games’ Teaser Trailer and Viral Site Revealed?

Considering he’s still shooting the film aimed at a March release, I understand Ross’s penchant to hold back most of his footage. But it would have been nice for the voice over, at least, to explain the story to the audience. As it stands now, it’s Gale (Liam Hemsworth) – hardly a presence in the first book though he’s sure to be more involved in the movie – pumping up Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) for something general audiences have no idea about. At least the footage itself, of the woods and Lawrence with the bow, looks solid. I’m inclined to believe we’ll see much more convincing, and exciting, stuff in the next few months.

It’s http://thecapitol.pn/ and seems to slowly be revealing some kind of image, much as happened with Bane and The Dark Knight Rises. Here’s what it looks like as of 2:45 p.m. PST.

Portal: No Escape

Portal: No Escape

Portal: No Escape is a must see for everyone, but especially video game fans. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who has been directing commercials for the last few years, slowly working towards his feature film directorial debut. In May, he directed a horror short film “More Than You Can Chew” for Black Box TV, which got a bunch of people in Hollywood talking. Dan surprise premiered a new short film at Comic-Con, which was met with a standing ovation by the almost packed crowd. The film brings a grounded realism to this sci-fi concept, which is rarely seen in video game movie adaptations. Watch Portal: No Escape now embedded after the jump.

A woman wakes up in a room with no memory of who she is or how she got there…

This is a short set in the world of the Portal video games created by Valve Software.

Recommend viewing in HD in FULLSCREEN with sound UP…

VOTD: ‘Robots of Brixton’

Robots of Brixton

Much has been made of the upcoming robot revolution — in which the machines will take over and humans will be forced to serve as slaves or worse for our robot overlords, naturally — but filmmaker Kibwe Tavares imagines quite a different future for the machines in “Robots of Brixton.” In his short, robots have become second-class citizens, performing the menial labor that humans disdain and residing in a nasty, run-down part of London. When the police come knocking, tensions between the robots and the authorities come to an explosive climax. Watch the trailer below.

Robots of Brixton from Kibwe Tavares on Vimeo.

Brixton has degenerated into a disregarded area inhabited by London’s new robot workforce – robots built and designed to carry out all of the tasks which humans are no longer inclined to do. The mechanical population of Brixton has rocketed, resulting in unplanned, cheap and quick additions to the skyline.

The film follows the trials and tribulations of young robots surviving at the sharp end of inner city life, living the predictable existence of a populous hemmed in by poverty, disillusionment and mass unemployment. When the Police invade the one space which the robots can call their own, the fierce and strained relationship between the two sides explodes into an outbreak of violence echoing that of 1981.
