Sony to buy out rest of Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson announced on Thursday that Sony will buy out the remainder of Sony Ericsson for $1.475 billion. Making Sony Ericsson a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony will allow for better product integration across Sony’s slate of offerings, and will also bolster its patent holdings with ownership of “five essential patent families,” says Ericsson.
Sony Ericsson was formed in 2001 when Sony partially acquired Ericsson. The purpose was to combine both companies’ “unprofitable” handset businesses so that they could make feature phones that were more attractive to consumers. The companies cite the Walkman phone and Cyber-shot phone as “well known examples” of their partnership.

Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc
Just moments ago Sony Ericsson announced their very first 2011 product at the Sony press pre-CES press conference in Las Vegas – The Xperia™ arc.
This being Sony Ericsson’s first 2011 product it’s also where they’ll take the step to Android Gingerbread and use two very important pieces of Sony technology to even further evolve the user experience.
Why do I think I should have waited to get this phone, instead of my iPhone 4? That would have kept my unbroken line of Sony Ericsson phones and I could still say that all the photos on this site where taken with Sony.
Oh well, next phone!

Leaked videos show Sony ‘PlayStation Phone’ in action
Several videos of prototypes of Sony Ericsson’s ‘PlayStation Phone’ have emerged, giving viewers an early look at Sony’s answer to the increasing popularity of gaming on the iPhone.
Leaked photos of the ‘PlayStation Phone’ were published by Engadget in October, but hands-on videos posted to YouTube this week are the best evidence for the phone’s existence so far.
The device, which is listed as the “Zeus” model number in the video, has slide-out physical controls similar to the Sony PSP Go handheld gaming device, in addition to a touchscreen, which reportedly measures 4 inches. The slide-out controls appear to have the rumored multi-touch touchpad.
The video also corroborates rumors that the smartphone runs Google’s “Gingerbread” Android 2.3. Earlier reports indicated that the phone has a 1GHz Qualcomm chip, 512MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera and 1GB of internal storage.
In a second video, the user selects the “PlayStation” icon to verify the smartphone’s PlayStation functionality, though the device lacks any “content items” to display.

VOTD: XPERIA X10 – Continuous Auto Focus stress test.
In this clip I try out the continuous auto focus while filming in 720 HD. I really put it through a test by just sliding in a close object in front of the far away static scene. These features are added in the update available for XPERIA X10 during the fall of 2010.

I’m currently on the 18.47 from London Paddington to Cheltenham Spa.
First off i travel every working day from to London from Didcot parkway and as a result give you just under £400 a mouth and the service is very good on the whole, the trains are on time and very fast.
But on the few occasions when i’m later than my normal 18.15 train to Swansea from London. I offen find most the train pre-booked. Of course you don’t care if they turn up or not because they’ve paid. How about the they don’t take up the seat as well. You are one of the only London train services that has pre-book seats i think rather than pre-paid. I think thats wrong at peak times and from London. The seats should be first come first seated apart from the old and or ill.
There is nothing more frustating than being kicked out of my seat by some who has paid less and hasn’t bothered to arrive in a timely fashion.
Regards
James
