Congestion on the London Underground

Two more strikes by London Underground staff have been announced.

Look out for more ‘travel chaos' headlines as workers plan to stage two further strikes in the ongoing dispute over for the Night .

The RMT union has announced its members will walk out () for 24 hours from 9pm on 25 August and 9pm on Thursday 27 August. So far there has been no word from the other three unions representing LU staff — Unite, and Aslef.

A spokesman for of said:

“The leadership appear hell bent on strike action and the mayor is dismayed at their continued failure to put what is a fair, sensible and generous offer on the table to their members.”
He said the workers were being offered an above-inflation pay rise, cash bonuses and the commitment no one would have to work more hours than they do today and that strike action was “completely unnecessary”.
