In season three of Stranger Things, Hawkins becomes the home of the area’s newest mall Starcourt. The ironic thing is, the actual building the series is shot in is a dying mall. Located in Duluth, Georgia, the Gwinnett Place Mall was originally built in 1984 and slowly over time, lost its luster. That is until production designer Chris Trujillo and his crew revamped the defunct shopping center with 40 store and beaming neons to become the backdrop for the show.
