This cup and saucer comes from a tea set made to commemorate the Suffragette movement. The name Suffragettes came from a newspaper article making fun of the women from The Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU). The WSPU set up in 1903 to campaign for women to have the same rights as men to vote in elections.
