Check before you travel to London Bridge during bank holidays and weekends

We're rebuilding London Bridge station until 2018 whilst keeping it open for use. This will involve a rolling programme of service changes on trains operating into over weekends and Bank Holidays.When travelling during these times please ensure you check before your travel at National Rail Enquiries

Easter changes: 18 to 21 April 2014

Over Easter 2014 all three train operators using London Bridge will be changing their services as summarised below.

First Capital Connect 
Services to London Bridge
Thameslink route services will not operate to and from London Bridge; they will be diverted via an alternative route between Blackfriars and East Croydon.

Services to London King's Cross
Friday 18 to Sunday 20 April First Capital Connect will operate a limited service to/from London King's Cross, with all other trains operating north of Finsbury only or diverted to/from Moorgate.

Southern
Services to London Bridge
No services will call at London Bridge. There will be service diversions, alterations and replacements throughout the period.

Southeastern
Services to London Bridge, London Waterloo East and London Charing Cross

No Southeastern train services will operate between London Bridge, London Waterloo East and London Charing Cross. Southeastern services will be diverted to and from London Cannon Street.

How to get to London Bridge station and vicinity
Train users will need to take alternative routes into central London and use London services or London Bus services to get to London Bridge station and it's vicinity including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. Please know your travel options by visiting Transport for London website.

Other Easter Rail Engineering Works
In addition there will be engineering work taking place across the national rail network, please check before you travel.

Future key London Bridge train service changes 2014
Please keep checking the Thameslink website for information on future services changes. The rebuilding of London Bridge includes significant service changes on the following dates:

  • 23 August to Sunday 31 August – covering August Bank and 4 working days
  • For three years from Saturday 20 December a number of train services will be diverted away from London Bridge

Why is this work happening? 
We are transforming one of Europe's most congested railways whilst keeping it running. We are timetabling significant work to fall over weekends and holiday periods to coincide with reduced demand. We apologise for the disruption whilst these critical works are undertaken.
